About Us

The Workforce Investment Act requires local One Stop Delivery Centers to create a seamless employment support system by offering training, education and employment programs that are designed to meet the needs and demands of the local and regional labor market.  Customer choice and universal access are fundamental to service delivery.

One Stop Centers are required to offer customers:

  • Training and employment programs designed and managed at the local level;
  • The ability to conveniently access the services they need at a single location;
  • Choices in deciding the training program that best fits their needs and the organizations that will provide the service;
  • Information about how well training providers succeed at preparing people for jobs;

The success of the system requires that businesses provide information, leadership, and play an active role in ensuring that the system prepares people for current and future jobs along with the input, guidance and leadership of local partners.

Dutchess One Stop, located at 233 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY proudly serves as the comprehensive One Stop site co-located with the New York State Department of Labor.
