Established under the Workforce Investment Act and amended by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014, the center offers a full service resource room, job listings, career counseling, workshops and individual training awards.
Please note that the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act is not an entitlement program. Selection for individual training awards is a local decision that is based on eligibility, assessment of need, interest, ability, motivation and your prospects for successfully completing the program.
Our center is a business setting where customers are actively engaged in employment or reemployment activities and which local employers often visit so we request that all customers using our center are dressed in business casual attire. Anyone arriving to use the center resources or meet with a center employee dressed inappropriately or offensively may be asked to leave and return wearing business casual attire.
The full service Resource Room is open Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. during business days. Free services available in the Resource Room include use of computers with Internet access, resume and cover letter printing on laser printers, resume faxing and mailing, access to telephones for job-search related calls, Department of Labor job listings and a library of job-search related reference materials.
Computers can be used for employment related activities such as online job searches and resume and cover letter writing. There is a two hour limit per day on all computers so come in prepared to work in order to make the most out of your time.
