Dutchess Community College (DCC) and Dutchess One Stop have partnered together to offer “Being Your Best” to entry level workers 18 years of age or older. In supporting the development of entry level workers, of any age, we are supporting the growth of our local businesses and workforce.
The 5-day program will run from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at DCC’s main campus:
- May 1
- May 8
- May 15
- May 22 and
- May 29
. The course is appropriate for any Dutchess One Stop customer who wants to develop the soft skills most sought out by employers. The 15 hour course is free of charge to Dutchess One Stop customers. After completing the course Dutchess One Stop customers may sign up to take the National Readiness Credential through our office and also free of charge.

Adriance Memorial Library’s Public Computer Center offers computer workshops as well help with completing online job applications. The New York State Library also offers Job Now, a free online job coaching which is accessible through the Poughkeepsie Library’s website.
Adriance Memorial Library is located at 93 Market Street. The services are free but may require pre-registration and library membership (which is also free).
Dutchess One Stop customers can now work one-on-one with a Resume Writer. Appointments* are being set up for 30 minute intervals one afternoon a week. Customers should bring a typed or written copy (on paper) of their employment, education and skills history.

“Help Wanted” (helpwantedinteractive.org) is a multimedia project that addresses the current economic crisis that dramatically affects families across New York State. In cooperation with government, media and non-profit organizations, “Help Wanted” features a 26-episode television series along with a web portal that connects people to community and online resources. With community partner assistance, WCNY and WMHT focus on four major areas of concern:
